SMS : More Than Just Sending Messages
Evolution is inevitable, there was the stone age, the bronze age & the iron age.. However, we are the most fortunate generation, we are witnessing "the Information Age". Man’s greatest ability is to communicate. From handwritten letters to email, the journey has been interesting. The latest addition in the list is Short Messaging Service (SMS).
As per standard definition “Short Message Service (SMS) is a text messaging service component of phone, Web, or mobile communication systems”. However, the impact and usage of SMS is way beyond this. Don’t agree, let’s see if you are really right.
The movie you have been waiting for is releasing this Friday, and you wish to book tickets in advance. What would you do? Netbanking, correct! Cutting the long story short, you booked the seats, its time to make the payment. Most of the bankers require you to enter a One Time Password (OTP). Identification isn’t it! Further, the message that comes from the vendor website is your permission to enter the movie hall. Similar scenario is for Airline Tickets & Railway Tickets. Isn’t SMS such a lifesaver? I couldn’t agree more.
Consider another scenario, the father of the girl you wish to marry would decide to call on your phone. And your callertune is that of a sleazy song. A simple SMS is all what it takes to turn off the callertune. This is one of the many scenarios, there are many more. Cab services, Job Portals, the list goes on!
Uses of SMS are many, but in the end the most important use of it is “getting in touch with the people you love”. All, it takes is an SMS to inform your wife or parents that you are safe and happy. This is an unbeatable advantage of SMS service.

Preserving Thee - An Effort
Consuming the day, like a fiend, the shadow, glooming the prodigious gloss,
Filtering speck by speck, through the eye of an hour glass,
My urn of breaths has lightened, but I am rooted, adamant to make it as it was,
Did the lariat loosened, levitating the steeds, letting too swiftly the tide to pass?
Time assaults my memory, like the meteors fuelling themselves to torch the sky,
I recollect the orchards, the gardens, but the fragrance and the pastels fade,
The oceans, rivers, ponds and lakes, no longer soothe, they’re dead like a desert, dry,
Seems all bridges, roads, paths and ways, have been severed by a mighty blade.
Defoliated and deformed, forsaken and forlorn, an errand, undertaken through the ford,
To garner, resurrect and prolong, to harness the advent of this raging storm,
I fail to hold on to the hands who taught me to walk, and those holding my life by a cord,
Flipping the pages, I not smell nor see, numb and cold, yet I feel a touch, warm!
Disheartened from my worthless wanderings, I sit retired and tired and then….
The orchards come alive, as if conjuring the colours from the rainbows,
The flowers pout, the buds smile, it’s a miracle never witnessed by men,
I see, I feel. I smell the breeze, mesmerizing my senses, the scent flows.
The moments lost, revived and rewoven, the shadow is outcast,
Showers of blessings, dances of joy, euphoria all around,
The sounds of trumpets! The crescendo of drums! But do such things ever last?
My dream fades; unwillingly I awake, and look what I found!
A million tides may crash the shore; many a million leaves may fall,
I may wither, wreathe, wrinkle and fade, but those moments are afresh,
Caged within, this beautiful time or was it a dream? Secured behind a wall.
The happiness of the moment is ineffable, I see you no longer in flesh
But in my every word and phrase, I immortalize and preserve thee,
Long after the world has seen us pass, when the flowers will bloom-
The birds will sing, the sun will smile, and the wind will tickle a tree,
They’ll speak our words, our laughter will echo, like incense purifying a room.

Success is all About Attitude
Being successful is all about attitude. I am sharing few of the success commandments with you, these were published in the Times of India many years ago. I had them in my e-mail, they always gave me courage. Hope they do the same to you.
• Don’t compare yourself with your more successful friends and relatives. This comparison confirms your underlying beliefs of inferiority and inadequacy.
• Don’t criticize yourself for your imperfections. Your criticism strengthens your painful thoughts about your inadequacy.
• Don’t be unhappy. While thinking of living a better life, remain happy with what you have. This seems like a paradox, but it is the primary mantra for a better life. Being happy increases your energy field and attracts opportunities towards you.
• Always love and respect yourself. Make the list of your qualities that you can love and respect about yourself for.
• Be honest about your feelings. If you are feeling unworthy, accept this feeling.
• Don’t be discouraged by setbacks. Setbacks are a part of life. They help you learn from your mistakes. Don’t take your failures personally. Everyone fails at something at some point or other.
• Don’t feel unworthy of success. Each one of us deserves to have a great life.
• Don’t shun the so called “bad” experiences. In life both good and bad happens.
• Don’t try to control others. Live and let live.
• Don’t look for security. Anything physical is not permanent, look for growth and evolution instead.
• Don’t remain anxious about the result of your efforts. The results will be seen at the right time. Keep doing your work with faith and commitment.
• Don’t think yourself to be better or lesser than others. Each one is a unique individual capable of achieving the best.
• Don’t unnecessarily try to please others. Be pleasant with all.
• Don’t withdraw into yourself. Be friendly with all.
• Don’t rebel against authority. Be amiable. Put your point across amicably.
• Don’t be too submissive.
• Don’t blame others for your problems. Take complete responsibility for all that you have in life.
• Don’t criticize others. It lowers your vibrations and attracts criticism of your actions. Criticism of any kind always re-bounces to you.
• Don’t plan and schedule everything in advance. Keep room for uncertainties.
• Don’t see life in terms of “always” and “never”; “right” and “wrong”; “black” and “white”; “winner” and “looser”. Follow the middle path.
• Don’t always think of winning an argument. Arguments can never be won, accept others’ point of view but follow your truth.
• Don’t be stubborn. Listen to others.
• Don’t defend yourself. You don’t have to prove anything. If someone doesn’t agree with you, so be it.
• Don’t feel responsible for others. Your prime responsibility is for yourself. Help others become responsible for themselves.
• Don’t evaluate others the basis of external appearances. Things are not always what they seem. Respect everyone.
Sky is the limit; just make sure your efforts are in the direction.
